The night train from Bangkok took us north to chang Mai, where we entered the world of wats, mountains, hot springs and elephants.
A close encounter with these friendly giants is a must in Thailand and it will stick with you forever. But the most special encounter, as we slowly but surely get of the tourist trail ,is the one with the Thai themselves. As gentle as their giants, they are always friendly and always willing to help especially when your traveling with a child.
In Pai,a small town further north, Emma walks the streets like a local , the street musician sings songs about her and at the corner restaurant the waitress knows she likes pink straws in her drink. We planned to stay two nights here, but like everyone else, we’ve stayed longer.
