Where does a story begin? Maybe this one begins in an indian restaurant, in Borgerhout, Belgium.

We were having diner with our daughter Emma, at that time almost 2 years old, when one of us said .”Why don’t we sell the house and go traveling .On the other side of the table a quick respons followed.” Now , that’s a great idea”.

What happened before the beginning of this story is simple. Two young people meet , fall in love , have a baby , buy a house and slowly but surely see the life that they dreamed of get buried under a pile of bills and work!

We think most people will experience this feeling one time in their life. A lot of people probably had the same conversation once. Luckily we are two people who like to take action.

It took us a year of hard work to get everything prepared .We renovated and sold our house, bought a smaller apartment and renovated that as well. Emma went to school for the first time, we had to move 3 times and quit our jobs before we left. In that time Koen’s father’s cancer began to take the best of him, pushing him to the end of his limits, something that would make leaving almost unbearable.

Why we go through all that trouble, for a few months on the other side of the world, and that with a little child ?
